Los Cristianos is one of the population entities that make up the municipality of Arona, on the island of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. It is one of the main tourist centers of Tenerife and the Canary Islands. In September of 2016 it counted on a population 21,162 inhabitants, being the locality with greater population of its municipality (of 91,448 inhabitants), and of the south of the island canary. Together with the localities of Playa de Las Américas and Costa Adeje, they form the tourist conglomerate with infrastructure of hotel services, catering, commercial, cultural and leisure of more importance of the Canary Islands, where millions of visitors visit every year.
From the first population settlement is born the port of Los Cristianos, fundamental for the development of the fishing village. Currently, the port area of Los Cristianos occupies the first place in Spain1 in terms of passenger traffic, communicating through regular shipping lines the islands of La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma with this point on the island of the capital.
