Jairo Pérez in male and Jennifer Delgado in female, absolute winners of the 2nd Golden Mile Playa de Las Americas, where five hundred runners took the start.
The Golden Mile of Playa de Las Americas in Arona became a celebration of running on December 31st at the 2nd San Silvestre Golden Mile. From three in the afternoon the circuit was full of runners, family and tourists to encourage the little ones who disputed their particular San Silvestre.
Some eight hundred runners between adults and children gathered the second edition of the race San Silvestre Golden Mile of Playa de Las Americas, where Jairo Pérez in men and Jennifer Delgado in women’s category, crossed the finish line in first position.
At 16:00 there was the start of the five-kilometer race that covered the urban area of the Golden Mile, where about five hundred runners set out to finish this race, which fulfilled the goal of saying goodbye to the year doing sports with the family and in an environment dressed for the occasion.
In the absolute classification, in masculine, the winner was Jairo Pérez with a time of 16:31 followed by Joyce Manuel Medina, Barcelo Team with a time of 16:32. In third position and with a time of 16:48, entered Dionisio Guillen of the club Triabona. In the women’s category the winner was, with a time of 19:00, Jennifer Delgado Avutarda Maxiroga club, the second position went to the Finnish Anni hemminki 19:39 and closed the podium Ana Boullon Sabin 20:09 CD Vallivana. The best celebs were Joyce Manuel Medina and Guacimara Hernández.
The awards ceremony was attended by the sports councilor of Arona, Juan Sebastián Roque, who also participated in the event, accompanied by several municipal councilors, the veteran athlete Emilio Lentini and the representative of the Golden Mile, José Fernando Cabrera. The test was organized by the City of Arona through its Municipal Sports Board, together with the Department of Tourism, the Golden Mile of Playa de Las Americas, the Athletics Club Arona and the Sports Commission Grupasca.
The test was enlivened by the music of Dj Rafael Miguel and it is worth noting the number of high level athletes from several European countries and different athletic disciplines, who took the exit of this awaited second edition of the San Silvestre Golden Mile of Playa de Las Americas.
